Hey, my name is Tessa Grace. I am a jazz-inspired vocalist and songwriter based in South London and Bournemouth. My vocal and songwriting styles blend elements of jazz, pop, indie, folk, and RnB. I draw inspiration from artists like Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Laufey, Billie Eilish, The Staves, and more.

I have experience as both a solo artist and backing vocalist, both in the studio and on stage. Alongside my solo work, I am also a part of backing vocalist group, The BeeVees, having recently performed at Spice Of Life with singer Elfi (see more under The BeeVees).

I am always looking for and open to collaborations, whether it’s with musicians, singers or producers - I am a professional and versatile vocalist.

My Background

Growing up I was always surrounded by music, from fighting over three-part harmonies with my mum and sister, to watching my nannie singing in musicals that my grandad wrote and composed; music was stitched into my life from before I could talk (I was singing instead!).

I started out in musical theatre, attending a theatre Saturday school every weekend from the ages of 14 to 17, where I performed showcases and musicals each term - this was where my passion for performing on stage grew. Alongside this, I attended piano and vocal lessons where my love for improvisation and songwriting began.

From there, I went on to join a musical theatre college in North London. However, this was where I decided that my love for songwriting and performing as myself had been put on the back burner, and I was ready to leave the characters behind and perform on stage as myself without hiding.

Since then, I joined ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music) in 2022 to help start my career as a solo independent artist. This was where my love for jazz began as I delved into new genres. One of my tutors introduced me to legendary artists like John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, and Miles Davis, exposing me to a world of improvisation and emotions, which I now strive to embrace in my own work.

Now I believe I have finally found my voice, and I’m currently working on my Debut EP to get ready for release in Summer 2025!
